A huge congratulations to everyone who took part in the World Championships. We had an incredible amount of time spent in Play quizzes (over two and a half years just in the UK alone!) during the championships, and everyone deserves a big slap on the back!

That said, there are some prizes valued even more highly that a slap on the back from the Frog Play dev team (if you can believe that!) so here is the leaderboard as it stood at the end of the championship..

UK student

Which means out top three primary students are: Mithun Sarvamohan, Isabelle Sisley and Thokulan Prabakaran.

Our top three secondary students are: Lucy Gowans, Habiba Ayub and Hashim Amin.

Congratulations to all of you, our team should already have been in touch to arrange your prizes, but if not, go nag your teachers!

And in a suprise move, tomorrow we launch a new, small yet perfectly formed competition. Come back later today for more details!

Pack Hunter

A couple of weeks ago, you may have noticed a few new games appear. Today we’re going to look at one of them: Pack Hunter. This is a game we’ve had requested a bunch of times, based on pack-opening mechanics found in tonnes of AAA games.

Choose one of four sets, each containing 25 different cards, then choose a pack to open. There are five rarities of each card (6 really, but one is SUPER rare. There’s also a star rating on each card, empty star, all the way to double-platinum. That means there’s a whole bunch of cards to open!

You can save your cards into a collection, and try and get them all. Even better, you can see when opening whether a card is new, or better than a previously saved one. You can then sell an entire collection to, you guessed it, open more packs!

So whether you want to hunt for rares, open as many as you can, or collect them all, there’s something here for everyone. The best part is, it’s free right now! So you can go ahead and play it, and let us know what you think!

Also take a look at this image, and guess what else is free this week!

New Room!

There’s been a bit of an update to IAL and FrogPlay today. Most of the changes are minor, you might not even notice them. However, a big change is now here, and that is the new and improved room. Here is a list of some of the new features:

  • Hugely improved tablet experience – Now you can change wallpapers, access homework and use unlock codes from your iPad or other tablet. Every feature you’re used to on the desktop version can now be taken on the go!
  • Easier Wallpaper picker – No more clicking through lots of wallpapers, just scroll to the one you want, click it and you’ve got it!
  • New calendar – Your calendar image now changes with the current month.
  • Easier homework tracker – The calendar also shows when you have homework or tasks, and also when the deadlines are!
  • Much easier unlock code entry – Have you ever tried entering a code, but clicked one too many times? Now you don’t have to go all the way round!
  • Enhanced for larger monitors – The room is now full screen; it stretches to fill any size!
  • Improved graphics – New posters, buddy pictures, books and more, the whole room has had a bit of a lick of paint!

What do you think? We really hope you like it! To celebrate, we’re looking into making a whole bunch of new wallpapers for the room. What would you like to see? Leave a comment below, and maybe you’ll see it in the room soon!
