Footy Fiesta Trophy!

Congratulations everyone. Due to everyone’s hard work, we’ve managed to get 10 squad members to Brazil. So, as promised, here is your first Legendary Item Unlock

27296

This trophy symbolises everyone’s hard work during the past month (and the whole year really) so well done everybody! The next unlock is the Solid Gold Football, which will be unlocked once we get the planes back to the UK

Remember: These unlock codes will only be released if we manage to achieve the targets before Tuesday, June 10th. If we don’t get 11 members to Brazil, we’ll never release the next unlock, which is a FREE PET CODE!

Footy Fiesta Winners!

The Footy Fiesta competition has now drawn to a close. It was really close at the end too! We’d like to give a big congratulations to Amy A for her amazing score of 3,662 goals in Penalty Shootout, and Tajinder G. who managed to destroy the competition with his score of 7,414 goals! (That’s nearly 240 goals per day!)

Footy Fiesta isn’t over yet though! We still need to get our England Squad to Brazil. See below for more information on upcoming unlock codes and bonuses! Also, why not leave a comment below congratulating our winners!

Fourteen Fun Footy Fiesta ’14 Facts

Footy Fiesta ’14 has really kicked off! It’s been on for a week now, so I thought I’d share a few stats we’ve collected so far.

  1. Goals of Glory: Footy Fiesta is being played over 5 times more than the original every day.
  2. Penalty Shootout: Footy Fiesta is being played 4 times more than the original every day.
  3. They are now the most popular games in our system!
  4. Scoring your first goal in GoG:FF is now our most unlocked achievement.
  5. Only four people are bad enough at GoG that they’ve let the opponent score 500 times!
  6. Only 24 people have scored more than 250 goals in GoG
  7. Only ONE person has over 25 clean sheets in GoG
  8. No one has missed EVERY goal in Penalty Shootout. Good work!
  9. However over 100 people have scored every goal in one game of PS:FF
  10. Only 500 people have used our Footy Fiesta unlock codes! Come on guys, we can do better than that: 12614 for the Brazil Kit; 82622 for Samba Dancers!
  11. As of now, we only have ONE member of the England Squad in Brazil. (Although the second can see the shores by now). We need to get at least 11 by the end of the month!
  12. Bhargava V is at the top of the GoG league, but only by about 100 goals. Will they be top by the end of the month?
  13. Amy A is running away with the PS league trophy. Can anyone beat her? You’ll need 2,410 goals to do so!
  14. And finally: There are more Dragons on the league tables than footballers. How does that even make sense?!

Guest Post: Larry the Mechanic

For a quick bit of info on Footy Fiesta, we wanted to hear from someone directly involved. So, we went to Larry. You might recognise Larry from such popular I am Learning games as Car Tune or Heli-Rescue. Lets see what he has to say.

“Oh hey. Larry here. I don’t like doing writing like this so I’ll be quick. I gots stuff to fix! I been fixing this hear here plane. We’re using this thing to fly those overpa footballer guys across to Brazil. I don’t know why, but I ain’t paid to ask questions!
You know, fly a guy there, auto-hyper-remote control it back. Simple really. It’s over 6000 miles there and back, so we’s gonna need lots o’ fuel. That’s where yous guys come in! For every hour you spends in I am Learning, the plane moves a mile! It’s easy, so long as yous guys’s keep on’ workin’! Now leave me alone, I’ve gots stuffs to do!”

I am Learning 7 is Here!

We’re really excited to finally reveal the features of I am learning 7! We’ve listened to all your feedback, read every blog comment, Facebook comment and tweet, and we think you’ll love the new I am learning!

Here’s a quick look at the newest features. There’s lots of little tweaks and changes, but here are the big ones. Over the next couple of days we’ll have a ‘key features guide’ right here, so you can get in-depth knowledge of what’s new.

Achievements: We’ve gotten rid of the old trophies from the room. Don’t worry though; we’ve replaced them with something amazing… Achievements!
Each game now has at least 3 (sometimes up to 10) to collect. Whack 1000 monkeys. Get a score of 20,000 in diving. Get a perfect score on ‘It’s a Wrap’ and loads more. There are over 470 right now (and more to come) so that should keep you all very busy!

Buddy Lists: Now you can add your real-life friends into I am learning! You can see when they are online, what games they are playing and what achievements they have unlocked. Think you’ve got a great score in a game? Why not brag to your buddies and show them how good a gamer you are?

Updates to the Iamable: It’s now even easier to see what parts you have unlocked. Also, you can now see your buddies’ Iamables stood right alongside yours! We’ll be working on some great new unlock codes, so check back here often to get them!

Mobile version: The site now works on iPads, tablets, mobiles and everything else! Now you can do your homework on the go and play games anywhere! We currently have a selection of our most popular games, including Penalty Shootout, Fashionistas and Whack a Monkey. We’ll be adding more soon!

We hope you’ll love the changes we’ve made, and we really think you’ll love using I am learning even more! Take a look now, and tell us what you think! We really care about your feedback, and what you have to say!

Student Voice – Creating an ‘I am learning Club’ by Harry Hodgson

Hi blog readers!

My name’s Harry Hodgson, a recent year 11 student from a secondary school in Doncaster. For the past year I’ve run an I am learning club, which is a fantastic idea and an easy way to socialise and revise and play games! I want to tell you how to start an I am learning club; what to do and how to do it. Let’s get going…

The I am learning club is incredibly easy to get started:

  • Tell your teachers that you want to start a club and explain that it’s all education based. They will love the idea!
  • Find a computer suite that is free during a lunch time.
  • Once you’ve found a location, ask for permission to promote the club, make posters, banners and any other materials you can think of.
  • Spread the word and get as many people to attend as possible!
  • Elect a couple of enthusiastic people to be Iambassadors who will be responsible and help run the club.
  • Success, you’ve done it! Make sure you keep up the good work and bathe in your own awesomeness.

You have your club. You have your club members… But what now? Well, now you can reap the benefits:

  • Loads of cool rewards and exclusive unlock codes.
  • Socialise with peers, make new friends, but most of all… have fun!
  • Iambassadors are exclusive to the club and allow you to represent I am learning throughout the school and help the club develop new ideas.
  • Receive certificates based on the amount of time you spend on I am learning.
  • Become the brightest I am learner in the class and be the best gamer too!

That is pretty much all you need to know. Remember…the I am learning club is all about you and your peers. I would love to hear all your thoughts and feedback, so drop a comment below and if you have any questions, feel free to get in touch. I hope to see you all running I am learning clubs very soon!

  • Harry Hodgson.
